Where to brunch this weekend

Thanks to daylight savings, this has been a total TGI-eff this week. Welcome to commuter Dark Ages: rising to grayness and greeting the moon after work. Those of you who are attending SOFA this weekend will continue to bathe in artificial light. For the rest of us, it looks like this weekend is going to be a total heat wave — 60 degrees! Then again, the widget on my computer has broken my heart with a lie here and there, so don’t hold your breath.

Whatever your weekend plans, don’t forget to grab the most important meal of the day at one of these fine establishments.

Tabula Tua Quinceañera Brunch
(1015 W. Armitage Ave; 773.525.3500)
Oh, it seems like it was just yesterday when Tabula Tua was just another high-end stroller being pushed around by a foreign au pair in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. All grown up, the store is having its super sweet 15 and hosting a free champagne brunch with 15% off all purchases. Brunch held Sat. 10:00 am-noon; sale until 6:00 p.m.

Chant
(1509 E. 53rd St.; 773.324.1999)
Have the hangover blues? Let a more qualified musician express your inner turmoil as you go wild and fill the void at the all-you-can-eat buffet. This Sunday, Gloria Shannon will be performing at Chant’s Sunday Blues Brunch. The buffet features a mix of mostly southern dishes, such as: pulled BBQ pork with steamed buns, fried catfish and candied sweet potatoes, as well as cheese blintzes and sesame polenta. Blues, brunch and subsequent food coma for the inclusive price of $18.95 for adults, $12.95 for kids 12 and under, with 16& service charge tacked onto the bill. Brunch served Sun. 12:00-3:00 p.m.

Chalkboard
(4343 N. Linclon Ave.; 773.477.7144)
It’s only a few weeks until you’ll be living off turkey for the next century, so take a preliminary break and have some duck. Chalkboard’s Duck “Mick” Muffiin features seared duck breast, poached eggs, brie sauce on toasted English muffins. Brunch served Sun. 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
