Last brunch at Vella
Some belated, but very sad news to hit the brunch world: Chicagoist has reported that Our Lady of the Blue Line, Vella Cafe, will be closing their doors on Aug. 23. Though the replacement resident at the Western stop storefront is none other than Bill Kim’s highly-anticipated Belly Shack, we’ll truly miss daily access to amaranth pancakes and smashers.
Vella will be hosting one last pizza dinner on Aug. 14, including personal favorite the Baconegger: a heavenly, cholesterol-laden dreamboat of bacon, egg, mozzarella and fresh basil.
