Despite the fact that airfare to Rio is dirt cheap right now, chances are you don’t have the money or vacation time for a Carnival getaway (trust that I’ve cried those 99 tears time and again). Fortunately, the good folks at C-House have taken the liberty of throwing together a special Bossa Nova brunch that will allow you to pretend for at least one morning.

During the weekend of Feb. 21-22, C-House will be vamping up their Bossa Nova Brunch with a taste of Carnival. For those of you afflicted with the Tom Cruise confusion, Brazil does have its own culture separatist from its Latin neighbors and the official language is Portuguese, not Spanish. Keeping with its Brazilian theme menu, Executive Chef Seth Siegel-Gardner offers national favorites like Churrasco and Eggs, and Feijoda. If your companion isn’t feeling adventurous, classic brunch entrees are also available for traditionalists.

Nothing warms the blood like a personalized Caipirinha for $9. Choose your Fruit: lime, blood orange, kumquat, pineapple or honeydew; Rim: sugar, citrus or strawberry sugar; and throw in a Floater ($3): Champagne, Grand Marnier or Midori. Other specialty cocktails are available, along with plain ol’ fresh squeezed juice for the boring, I mean, sober.

In the spirit of Carnival, C-House will be showcasing a special live jazz set from the Josh Burke Duo all weekend during the Bossa Nova Brunch.
