Weekend brunch buzz 9/21-9/22
For the motivated foodie, the Chopping Block is offering a seminar on flippin’ French crepes Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. for 75 bones. While you might not actually remember how to do it later, you can at least enjoy the educational experience, or mostly eating them. Crepes you will probably eat include: blue cheese marscapone and sauteed pears; curried chicken crepes; creamed spinach crepes; and Crepes Suzette. Seats are limited to 15 with a one week cancellation policy.
Metromix proports a $35 three-course pre-fixe brunch from the Pump Room every Sunday with a complimentary glass of champagne. Considering the historic restaurant doesn’t even list the price of menu items, you can take their word for it.
Does anyone venture out to the Near West Side during the day on the weekends? Maybe that’s why Dine is offering 15% off their usual $22.95 brunch buffet with this coupon on their site. It’s limited one per table, so consider being a sweetheart and dividing the bounty with your date.
Thanks to the Bears, I can finally live out my dream of being romantically displaced at least twice a week, or buck up and be one of the guys (I get the beers). Through the next two weekends in September, Sheffield’s is offering a complimentary brunch buffet for tabs of $20 or more, which you inevitably spend at the bar anyway.
And now for something that does not cost an arm and a leg. I kid you not, Zaptatista has a $5 brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. I didn’t believe it until I saw it with my own eyes. Don’t believe me? Read the brunch menu and weep.
